The Plaide Palette started business in 1991, and has been on the Internet since 1996. We are a family owned and operated business in scenic central New York, specializing in the retail sales of Celtic gifts. The business also maintains an extensive databank of family and clan tartans on the premises, with Susan as a member of the Tartan Educational and Cultural Association. she is a Certified Tartan Fellow. The retail shop, mail order and web business are located within a historic home on Main Street in close proximity to many wonderful attractions. This | is also the home of ceramicist and artist Susan Miller, her husband, Everett, and their children. Ceramics, sculpture, jewelry making, creation of those "cake toppers" and tartan painting are all done on premise. Gifts created there are considered truly individual, unique and well done. In addition to the renouned creative gifts prepared by the | Plaide Palette people, they also import many fine gifts from Ireland, Scotland and Wales. They also ulilize local expertise in the fields of knitting, candles and porcelian. One can browse the shop, go to the computer and look up your tartan and enjoy the fresh country air and smallness of this historic village "lost in time".
